The Winner's Guide to Texas Hold'Em Poker
Ken Warren
The Winner's Guide to Texas Hold'Em Poker Written for beginning and intermediate players, Warren's book shows how to play and win Hold 'em, the most popular of the poker variations and the rage in card rooms and private games across the country. Numerous charts, tables, and examples help with explanations and analyses. 35 charts, 10 line drawings.

The Video Poker Answer Book
The Video Poker Answer Book My copy of The Video Poker Answer Book already is well-worn, as I read and re-read, study and quiz myself, and prepare every time I go to the casino. Needless to say, I couldn't disagree more with the reviewer from Arizona about the question-and-answer format. I think you learn by doing, and this book lets you work out the problems, then gives the explanations that underscore the learning experience. It's not just a cookbook that tells you what do do. It's really strong on explaining why we should play certain hands certain ways.
On top of that, it covers games I've never seen in any other video poker book. It seems that every other video poker writer thinks everyone plays in Las Vegas and has access to all the top pay tables. Well, I play mostly in Indian casinos in the Midwest, and I never see those games. I do see many of the games detailed in this book. It gives me the strategy changes I need for the lower pay tables I see in the Midwest. That makes this book the most complete video poker guide I've ever seen.

Video Poker-Optimum Play
Video Poker-Optimum Play A major expansion of Dans Video PokerPrecision Play which it replaces. A guide to video poker machines and the strategies necessary to beat them. Concentrates on Jacks-or-Better, Deuces Wild, Jokers Wild, and variations. Aimed at the recreational player who wants to become a serious or semi-pro player. Strategies are concise and easy to learn.

Beginners BEST SHOT at VIDEO POKER
Beginners BEST SHOT at VIDEO POKER Winning Video Poker strategy is now easy for anyone to learn. You don't have to be an experienced player or even know anything about Poker to play expert Jacks or Better Video Poker in almost no time at all.

In about an hour or so, you can understand the basics of Jacks or Better five card draw poker along with the video version of the game. You will also have a little "secret weapon" that you can take to the machines.

Video Poker, with it's many game variations, is different than other slot machines and most casino games because instead of having to rely on pure luck to get ahead, the player constantly makes strategy choices that can dramatically effect his or her chances of winning.

When starting out it is best to take just one of the better video poker games and learn it well. Thats what we do here. Jacks or Better has been chosen to study because of its widespread popularity. About every place that has Video Poker will offer this game.

Just as the expert Blackjack player knows how to play every possible hand, you will know how to draw to every VP hand for the best possible long range results. . . . So here's your chance to give this game your BEST SHOT, have fun and WIN!

Victory at Video Poker
Victory at Video Poker  I thoroughly enjoyed this book because unlike other video poker books I've read in the past, Scoblete's VAVP gave strategies that were easy to execute in a casino. The book is a fun read as well as it has sections devoted to the author's experiences. This is the best video poker book I have read and it has helped me a lot in the casinos. It has over one hundred different games with strategies for each one. Get this if you like to play video poker. It is worth every penny of its price.

Among the hottest casino games today are the video poker and related machines. Frank Scoblete knows and tells which machines offer the best odds and what strategies give you the biggest payouts on each. In some cases, the proper strategy will even tip the odds in your favor. Along the way he also explains machines for such similar games as video blackjack, video craps and video keno; wisely discusses money management and takes time out for bits of pure fun. Pay special attention to the chapter on whether casinos cheat at video games--it could influence where and how you play.

"In addition to strategy tables presented as plain English rules, Scoblete discusses video blackjack, craps, and keno; the psychology of playing video poker; an extensive glossary; and whether or not the games are regulated to give a true game. This is the best discussion of video poker for those starting out in the game, and I recommend reading it. Also a great book to loan to friends to get them hooked!"

The Theory of Poker
The Theory of Poker The Theory of Poker by David Sklansky discusses theories and concepts applicable to nearly every variation of the game, including five-card draw (high) , seven-card stud, hold 'em, lowball draw, and razz (seven-card lowball stud). This book intorduces you to the Fundamental Theorem of Poker, its implications, and how the theorem should affect your play. Other chapters discuss the value of deception, bluffing, raising, the slow-play, the value of position, psychology, heads-up play, game theory, implied odds, the free card, semibluffing, and much more.
Many of today's top poker players will tell you that this is the book that really made a difference in their play. That is, these are the ideas that separate the experts from the typical player. Those who read and study this book will literally leave behind those who don't, and most serious players wear the covers off their copies. In many ways, this is probably the best book ever written on poker.

Theory of Poker isn't a how-to book. But it can reasonably be claimed that the best strategy advice follows from the kind of analysis Sklansky presents, in many cases directly from Sklansky's. Don't make it your first book on poker. But if you plan to take poker seriously, and you don't want to reinvent the wheel, it's the single book that will save you the most wheel reinvention time.

Hold'em Poker
Hold'em Poker Texas Hold 'em is not an easy game to play well. To become an expert you need to be able to balance many concepts, some of which occasionally contradict each other.
In 1988, the first edition of this text appeared. Many ideas, which were only known to a small select group of players were now made available to anyone who was striving to achieve expert status, and the hold 'em explosion had begun.

It is now a new century, and the authors have again moved the state of the art forward by adding over 100 pages of new material, including an extensive section on "loose games," and an extensive section on "short-handed games." Anyone who studies this text, is well disciplined, and gets the proper experience should become a significant winner. Some of the other ideas discussed in this 21st century edition include play on the first two cards, semi-bluffing, the free card, inducing bluffs, staying with a draw, playing when a pair flops, playing trash hands, desperation bets, playing in wild games, reading hands, psychology, and much more.

Hold 'em Poker For Advanced Players by David Sklansky and Mason Malmuth is the definitive work on this very difficult game. (In fact, Texas hold 'em may be the most difficult of poker games to play at an expert level.) Even though much has appeared in print on how to play hold 'em, little of it is accurate. There are several reasons for this. First, the structure of the game as played in most major cardrooms has changed from what it was when hold 'em was first introduced. Second, the players...
